Remote Online Notarization (RON) provides a highly convenient option for notarizing documents quickly and efficiently. Unlike traditional notarization methods, such as walk-in or mobile notaries, RON allows you to connect with a state-commissioned notary online, no matter where you are.
Missouri has recently embraced RON legislation, a move that gained significant traction during the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling notaries and their clients to conduct business safely. House Bill 1655, signed into law by Governor Mike Parson on July 6, 2020, marked a significant milestone in the state’s notary laws. After three years of negotiations involving legislators and trade associations like the Missouri Land Title Association, the bill was initially set to take effect on July 1, 2021.
However, in response to the pandemic, the effective date was moved up to August 28, 2020. This law now provides approximately 72,000 notaries in Missouri with the opportunity to perform notarizations remotely, according to the National Notary Association (NNA).
Missouri residents and businesses can now notarize their documents online, in addition to using traditional in-person options like walk-in or mobile notaries. To take advantage of remote online notarization in Missouri, you’ll need to use a state-approved RON platform, such as Secured Signing.
When conducting a remote notarization, it’s essential to have a reliable internet connection and a computer equipped with a camera and audio capabilities. These tools allow you to appear before a commissioned online notary to eSign your documents.
Secured Signing’s RON platform uses advanced Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) algorithms to safeguard your documents against fraud. Designed to support in-house notaries, Secured Signing offers a comprehensive, secure, and user-friendly solution for seamless remote notarizations. The platform includes features such as identity verification, video conferencing, and record-keeping to ensure that the notarization process is both efficient and compliant.
By adopting Secured Signing’s RON platform, companies can streamline their notarization processes, significantly reduce costs, and enhance the overall signer experience.
The platform enables businesses to promote their brand while protecting their reputation by maintaining control over the notarization narrative.
